The final episode of our 8-part series through the book of Ephesians. In this episode, pastor Dale Partridge teaches on the famous “Armor of God” passage and instructs Christians how to protect themselves against spiritual conflict.

Imagine attempting to play a game of chess without any roles or rules. Unfortunately, that’s how most people approach marriage. However, like chess, having clarified roles and rules does not make the game more difficult, it makes the game possible and even enjoyable. The same is true in marriage. God has provided clear roles and rules for husbands and wives that makes a path for marital success and joy.

In Matthew 7:16-17, Jesus teaches us that identity determines activity. He says, “You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.”

In short, as Christians, we are to walk in a manner that represents our identity and our activity should reveal our identity. We are to put off the old self and put on the new self. Unity is an abused term in the church today. Yes, we need unity but never at the cost of purity. We must fight for both.
